Biography
Maboh Joyceline is a Cameroonian who holds a BSc in Food Science and Technology. She is a World Bank-sponsored African Center of Excellence — Center for Food Technology and Research scholar with an MSc in Food Processing Technology (FPT) and is currently awaiting her final PhD defence in the same field. She currently serves as the Deputy Director and Head of Department for Food Technology at St. Alessandro Higher Institute.
She is passionate about reducing food losses in her resource-rich but waste-prone country. She specializes in new food product development, food safety and quality assurance, post-harvest and food waste management, bakery technology, functional foods and nutraceuticals, amongst others. She is an author of several publications, as she is interested in learning and the sharing of knowledge.
Passionate about community development and youth empowerment, she is a co-founder and secretary general of Meet the Girl Cameroon, a non-profit that aims at educating, empowering and sustaining the girl child in STEM fields. Joyceline is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST) and also an alumnus of the prestigious Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Fellowship on Entrepreneurship (JLMF). As someone who values knowledge and community impact, she volunteered as a mentor with JLMF building skills in entrepreneurship, and with the Girls in Mathematical Science Program at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), Ghana — a program that provides career guidance to young girls.
She is flexible, easily adapts, and possesses good communication skills. She is a good team player with intercultural competence and leadership skills. She enjoys reading, traveling and cooking as a way of maintaining a life balance.
